Understanding a Decade of Centenaries (OCN Level 2 – Optional)

Are you interested in finding our more about the ‘Decade of Centenaries’ and the impact of historical events on our lives today?

This OCN Level 2 accredited course provides the opportunity to do just that.

Running from 7pm – 9.30pm for 5 sessions:

Venue: Warrenpoint Town Hall

Date: Thursday 15, 22, 29 November, 6, and 13 December 2012

Peace Builders: (accreditation and delivered by Queen’s University Belfast - 5 CAT points optional)

This programme provides the opportunity to explore how the issues of sectarianism in our community can be addressed, by looking at the importance of pooling resources and working in partnership with statutory agencies to tackle community issues.  The programme will provide an overview of the history of the conflict and the nature of sectarian conflict. The accreditation is optional so if you wish to attend the course without it we would encourage you to participate.

Running from 7pm – 9pm for 5 sessions:

Venue: the Old Town Hall, Banbridge

Date: Tuesday 13, 20, 27 November, 4 and 11 December 2012

Cultural Diversity and Conflict Management (Optional accreditation by Queen’s University Belfast – 5 CAT Points)

This programme provides the opportunity for you to develop your skills in negotiation and mediation within your community.  The programme will also introduce you to approaches in leadership, management and conflict management and will develop your skills and confidence to work with your community, political represenatives and other agencies.  The accreditation is optional so if you wish to attend the course without it we would encourage you to participate.

Running from 7pm – 9pm for 5 sessions:

Venue: The Amma Centre, Armagh

Date: Thursday 8, 15, 22, 29 November and 6 December 2012.

Taster sessions to find out more

Not sure if Peacebuilder or Cultural Diversity and Conflict Management are the programmes for you? Why not try a Tester Session for either.  We can arrange a Taster Session for those interested which will last 1 1/2 hours and will give you the flavour of how the programmes work.

Prefer a Course Local to you?

We can also offer any of these programme to individual groups in a local area if your group is interested in running one.
